NIV Publishers Removing More of the Ancient Landmarks

It appears the publishers of the New International Version of the Bible are at it again.

They now are going to make the new NIV Bible gender neutral. It is important to note that the translators of the NIV never claimed to translate the Scriptures word-for-word, but rather translated them concept-by-concept. Whatever they thought it meant they translated it that way.

To make a long story short, they are going to further tamper with the order God has laid down in Scripture for man and woman or husband and wife. Millions of people read this version of the Scriptures and will be swayed into believing that God has no proper order for the sexes.

In a recent article from the Associated Press, the publishers are quoted as saying that they would change Sons of God to children of God. This is nothing more than an attempt to pander and be politically correct. God was clear when He said in Revelation 22:18-19, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.”

Scripture also goes on to say on Proverbs 22:18, “Remove not the ancient landmark , which thy fathers have set.” We are not to remove those sacred and ancient words that God Almighty laid down in his eternal Word. These compromisers want to remove the role of the sexes. But God made them male and female. If we change everything to gender-neutral then we take away the importance of the father being the leader of the home, and the mother being a sweet submissive wife. We see the devil’s attempt to destroy the family unit, and now there are Bible revisionists out there that want to help him do his job.

This is why at Old Paths Baptist Church we stick to the good, old, Black Book, the King James Bible. God made the Bible gender-specific, and we will keep it that way by the grace of God. We are not looking to change the message to fit the world, but we are looking to use the Word of God to change the hearts of men and bring them out of the world system.
